Summary
Victoria Shanghai Academy (VSA) is the first through-train International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in Hong Kong, and enjoys a scenic location next to Aberdeen Harbour. The school provides over 2,100 students with quality education through the IB’s Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP).
VSA emphasises a holistic education, at the heart of which is inquiry-based learning in a bilingual environment. Graduates are taught to embrace a strong sense of Chinese heritage while also developing 21st century skills, and learning to value themselves and others.

Chinese learning
In IBPYP, Years 1-3 are co-taught in English and Mandarin, and in Years 4-5 subjects are taught alternately in English and Mandarin. For IBMYP, the language of instruction is English except when it comes to Chinese history, Chinese language and literature, and Chinese literacy skills. In IBDP, students take two or three languages, which can include Mandarin.
