Benefiting from a network of 136 German Schools Abroad, German Swiss International School (GSIS) is a dual-language institution that has offered through-train education from kindergarten to secondary since its founding.
GSIS offers a multicultural education in two equally successful streams, where both diplomas are globally recognised – the German International Stream (GIS) offers the German International Abitur (DIA), while the English International Stream (EIS) delivers the British IGCSE and International Baccalaureate (IB) accreditation.

Chinese learning
Mandarin lessons are offered in the English stream at kindergarten. At primary, Mandarin is introduced at age 8-9 in both streams. The Mandarin curriculum not only enhances children’s language skills but also develops their appreciation of Chinese culture. At secondary, Mandarin is an elective.
Subjects offered at secondary
DIA students take Higher Level German, English and maths, plus eight Standard Level electives, with a choice of art, biology, chemistry, ethics, French, geography, history, Mandarin, music, physical education, physics and religion (some subjects are taught in English). IBDP students take three Higher Level and three Standard Level subjects in the categories of the arts, individuals and societies, language acquisition, language and literature, mathematics and sciences.

After-school activities
